Leeks, onions, garlic (Numbers 11:5)
“Onions, garlic and leeks...provide protection against cancer” (Georgia E. Hodgkin, Vibrant Life, January, 2000).

Grapes (Numbers 13:23)
“Researchers with the U.S. Department of Agriculture have identified another compound in grapes that they believe shows promise in fighting cancer” (Mark T. Sampson, May 27, 2002, www.practicalopc.com).

Olives (Deuteronomy 8:8)
“Olive oil offers protection against heart disease by controlling LDL (“bad”) cholesterol levels while raising HDL (“good”) cholesterol levels” (www.healingdaily.com).

Rye (Exodus 9:32)
“There has been growing evidence on the benefits of rye consumption in certain populations, with Scandinavia, Germany and Russia showing reduced risk of maturity onset diabetes, coronary heart disease and improved bowel health” (Dr. Graeme McIntosh et. al., CSIRO Health Sciences and Nutrition).

Lentils (Genesis 25:34)
“Lentils are among the most nutritious of foods” (Jane Dunne, www.nwitimes.com).

Millet (Ezekiel 4:9)
“Millet is also one of the best grains for those with intestinal disorders and is the ideal grain for the management of blood sugar imbalances” (www.suntonic.com).

Figs (1 Samuel 30:12)
“Figs are beneficial for constipation, digestion, anemia and help protect against cancer” (Anne Collins, www.annecollins.com).
