A Notable
Woman A Family Bible Study by David Hertzler 2 Kings 4:8-37 |
|
One day in his travels the prophet Elisha met a woman whom the Bible describes as notable. This woman displayed many of the qualities found in the article What Do Women Want? Write these qualities next to the verses below. Use them more than once if you need to. The first one is done for you. She urged him to stay for a meal (2 Kings 4:8 NIV). I know that this is a holy man of God (4:9). Let us make a small upper room . . . So . . . Whenever he comes to us, he can turn in there (4:10. I dwell among my own people (4:13). No, my lord, Man of God, do not lie to your maidservant (4:16). He (the son) sat on her knees till noon, and then died (4:20). Please send me one of the young men and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and come back (4:22). Its all right (4:23 NIV). Let her alone, for her soul is in deep distress (4:27). As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you (4:30). |
