I Timothy 6:6-10, 17-19 Many North American Christmas observances designed to breed discontentment. Merchants profit from people's desires for more and more things. What would happen if families made an effort to promote contentment at Christmas time? Read these instructions from the Apostle Paul to the pastor of a young church. Then answer the questions below. 1. My greatest resource (what I have most of) at this time is: _____ money _____time _____friends _____helping skills _____other 2. I use this resource mostly for: _____ personal enjoyment _____ family needs _____ community development _____ helping people outside my community _____ other 3. If I could have one wish granted, I would ask for: _____ more of this resource and less of the others. _____ less of this resource and more of another. _____ what I have now to continue into the future. _____ other ___________________________________ 4. Have you experienced any of the "many sorrows" (verse 10) caused by greed? _____Angry and bitter, determined to make up for what you lost. _____Hopeless and pessimistic - "I'm no good." _____Grateful for the lessons you learned from the experience. _____Other: ________________________________________ 5.
