When Bonding is Broken

Reactive Attachement Disorder is caused by a lack of bonding between a young child and his primary care-giver, which causes serious relationship difficulties for the child later in life, such as: lack of trust, lack of conscience development, difficulty in impulse control, difficulty in expressing emotions appropriately, and pathological lying. By understanding what attachment provides for a child and the results and difficulties in the life of a child who has no sense of attachment, adults can be better prepared to move into lives of these children and assist them in forming attachments as adolescents and teenagers.
