A Reason to Sing Tape

Songs, hymns and anthems in the choral tradition that helped one family survive immigration from Russia to Canada. 22 German and English favourites, a cappella and accompanied.

Clara (Durksen/Pauls) Schnupp says, "David and Sarah Pauls, my grandparents, found the Lord in Russia. Then, because of the Communist Revolution, they faced persecution and innumerable hardships. In the 1920s they, their children and grandchildren found help and freedom as they went through the Red Gate to freedom and continued on to Canada. The freedom they found in Christ and the freedom from persecution they found in Canada gave them "A Reason to Sing". In Canada, whenever relatives gathered, singing was always a part of the activities. Of the 440 descendants, a number of grandchildren (all cousins) got together to make this recording of well-loved hymns. To God be the glory!"
